Jago is a 17-year-old British event rider who started eventing at the age of 12.
He has produced his current horse from 5 (now 9), completing their first 3*S at Cornbury in 2023. He also has a 6-year-old who he has been producing for the last year, doing their first BE100 together last Summer.
Jago loves producing horses, enjoying every stage of their and his development. He’s recently taken on a ride from 5* rider Kylie Roddy and is excited about campaigning her at 2* this season.
He says: “I am passionate about eventing and determined to pursue it as a career. I have worked for Ferdi Eilberg and Andrew Nicholson, Bubby Upton benefiting from the wealth of experience of all three. I have recently started a BTEC in Sport with Psychology in order to support my passion with a sound knowledge base and skills.
I am a member of the Pony Club, training at AH level, and have started the Coaching programme and planning to work through the BHS assessment system this year.
I have really benefitted from my first year as part of the Performance Mentoring Programme with help and advice to start getting a business off the ground. I had a lot of success with the horse that I produced myself finishing top of the league for the most clear rounds at 3* level in 2024. We aim to step up to 4* level this year. With Kinda Brunette that I was given to produce from Kylie Roddy I have a successful 2024 campaigning at Novice and 2* level with a win and some top ten finishes and a top twenty finish at Ballendenisk in the 2* L in as part of the British u18 squad.
