Imogen Gloag

Imogen is a 28 year old event rider, based near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. She has been eventing professionally since leaving school at 18.

She was incredibly lucky to have a horse called Brendonhill Doublet come into her life when she was 15. Little did Imogen know he was going to be the horse to kick start her career and give her a first taste of British teams and top level 5* eventing.

Not many people are lucky enough to have their pony club partner go on to compete at four 5* events, whilst earning many accolades and valuable lessons along the way. Brendonhill Doublet went from winning the 2012 Pony Club Championships, to 2013 Junior Europeans and multiple 4* results before the pair took on its first 5* at Burghley in 2017, Imogen being the youngest rider at 22. They went on to complete another Burghley, Badminton and Pau. Imogen acknowledges she was very lucky to get a taste of what it’s like to compete at 5* level so early in her career, confirming to her that this is what she wants to do and be successful at.

Since Brendonhill Doublet’s final 5* before retirement, Imogen has been slowly expanding her string of horses and trying to find the next superstars. She has some really exciting young horses coming up through the levels and a fantastic team supporting her. Hopefully it won’t be too long before she is back competing at 5* level and reaching her goal of being competitive at the very top level of the sport.
